Splitz Utd 4 v 1 Rockland Utd Res
League
Kick Off 6.15pm
Reporter - Kevin Foran.
Splitz played there 1st Home game of the season and were worthy 4-1 winners.
Splitz started strong and had numerous attacks from word go with the Pyman brothers looking eager, but the Rocklands keeper was up for it. 14 minutes had gone and Connelly received the ball on the edge of the Rockland area. He saw the keeper off his line and coolly chipped into the top corner to open the scoring. On 22 mins Dan Pyman made it 2-0 to Splitz with a cool finish in the area. On 27 mins Rockland were awarded a free kick outside the Splitz area. The long range shot was unstoppable and put Rockland back in to the game. The Splitz defence stood firm and it remained 2-1 to Splitz until half time.
Splitz were on the back foot for the first 10 minutes of the second half but then started to play some lovely football. Marc White on the left and Jamie Ryan in the middle were inspirational. The pressure paid off and in the 67th minute Dan Braule crossed a lovely ball in from the right and it was met with a fantastic header from Dan Pyman. It was now Splitz's game to lose but the pressure was maintained and in the 75th minute, Marc White got the goal that he deserved. He cut in from the left of midfield and in to the area and slotted home for a great solo goal. That's the way it stayed until the end for a 4-1 win for Splitz
All the Splitz players played there part in what was overall a good game with both teams very sporting.
Splitz are next at home in the Ben Smith Memorial Cup, 2nd round on Saturday. 3pm kick off. All players are asked to attend Beetley for at least 2pm for the team photo 2010/11.

28/08/10
Stoke Ferry 6 v 1 Splitz Utd
League
Kick Off 3pm
Reporter - Kevin Foran.
SPLITZ UNITED were away to a strong and young Stoke Ferry side in their 1st match to kick off the League program for 2010/11. Unfortunately the side is still re-building and came away with a 6-1 defeat. Conceding 5 goals in the 1st half made it a tall order to come back but it was a very spirited performance in the 2nd half and Splitz came away with a very worthy consolation goal scored by Dan Pyman. But for the earlier errors Splitz may have come away with something from the match but there were some good things taken from the game. Splitz now look forward to Wednesday's match at home to Rockland Utd Reserves. Kick off is at 6.15pm. All players are asked to attend at Beetley for 5.30pm.
